Secretary for the Supreme National Security Council Ali Shamkhani said some western countries are suffering from miscalculation.
In a meeting with the visiting Syrian Parliament Speaker Mohammad Jihad Al-Laham here on Tuesday, he said Syria is the front line of the Islamic countries’ struggle against the Zionist regime and terrorism.
He said that western countries are ultimately suffering a miscalculation if they think they could provide security for the Zionist regime by creating crises in the region.
Referring to the 4-year-old resistance of the Syrian nation and army against numerous terrorist groups, he said the only way to confront the Takfiri terrorists was to wage an all-out war against them while using such capacities as dialogue among Islamic countries.
He said undermining Syrian state would result in uncontrolled crises in the whole region.
Shamkhani went on to stress that the US and its regional allies are openly training and equipping the Takfiri terrorists and violating the Security Council resolutions thus targeting the legal and legitimate rights of the nation.
Stressing Iran’s all-out and decisive support for Syria, he said the situation in the country will shortly change to the benefit of the nation.
Shamkhani also believed that the divisive plans by the US and some of its regional allies are clear proofs of the fact that the whole plot of terrorist actions in Syria and Iraq was engineered by the hegemonic powers.
The Syrian official appreciated Iran’s support for Syria and said the backing provided to the extremist terrorists by some of the regional countries was a dark record for them because they have preferred to serve the colonial powers instead of their own nations.
He also regretted lack of strong will to fight terrorism and said the United Nations and the Security Council were just standing there watching massacre of defenseless people.
The Syrian official underlined the will of the Syrian nation to fight terrorists.
